How to Build an Equipment List for Each Room

A room-based equipment list tells tenants, owners and managers what belongs where. Record name, quantity, location, condition and identifying details. Move through kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, storage and outdoor areas in a fixed order. Include wall-mounted and loose equipment, remotes, cables, filters and accessories.

Use a wide photo for location and a close-up for model or serial where appropriate. Record working when checked, not tested, needs repair or could not verify. If several items share a model, add room, location or an internal inventory number. Do not use one photo for multiple records when the connection is unclear.

Before export, count by room and filter records without a room, location, photo or status. Keep update date and person, especially when equipment moves or is replaced. Explore RoomLedger.

Note: Do not dismantle or test dangerous equipment just to complete a checklist.
