Review Your RoomLedger Home Record After One Year
A home record is useful only when you can tell what time it represents. After a year, inventory, condition photos, measurements, warranties and meter readings may all have changed. RoomLedger helps review a property, but it does not know that an item was sold, a room repaired or an old value is no longer current.
Check the property structure
Open each room, confirm consistent names and look for duplicate records. Mark items as sold, moved, replaced or no longer relevant. Do not delete documents immediately if they may support insurance, warranty or repair history; add a status and change date so the context remains.
Check photos and documents
Open sample wide photos, serial images, receipts and old reports. Find files that no longer open, lost links or cropped documents. If a value is an estimate, update its date and source rather than presenting an old number as current. See RoomLedger, and compare the review with the RoomLedger home inventory template.
Create a new review package
Export PDF for reading, CSV for filtering changes and ZIP for related files. Name it by date, open the export and keep an unmodified copy. Separate items into changed, needs checking and no longer used. Schedule the next review around insurance renewal, a move or a major asset change.
Photograph a few fixed points from similar angles so changes are easier to see. Review high-value items, serial numbers and backups first. If the record supports insurance, do not assume an old purchase price equals current replacement value; ask the insurer what evidence and valuation it requires.
Note: Values, appraisals and insurance requirements must be confirmed with the appropriate source.
