Move-in checklist for windows, locks and curtains
Windows and curtains include small parts that are easy to miss: glass, frames, handles, latches, tracks, cords and accessories. Record what you actually observed or safely tested, with a location and date. RoomLedger can store the inventory, photos, notes and checklist by room.
Start with the glass and frame
Take a context photo showing the window in the room, then close-ups of cracks, scratches, fogging, gaps, damaged sealant or water marks. Check handles and latches only when safe and permitted. Record what opened, what stuck and the conditions; do not mark an item “good” if it was not tested.
Record locks and curtains separately
Count keys, controls and remotes, and state which opening they belong to. For curtains, record the type, number, rails, hooks, cords and visible tears or stains. Do not dismantle a mechanism or continue if damaged glass or a broken cord creates a risk.
Review and export
Check room names, context photos, close-ups and unverified areas. Link a note to a repair request or reinspection, then export PDF, CSV or ZIP according to the workflow. Explore RoomLedger.
Note: RoomLedger does not certify structural glass, locks or safety systems.
