How to Delete RoomLedger Data Without Losing Records You Need

Deleting may be appropriate after a property ends, an image was imported incorrectly, or you are cleaning a device. Deleting one photo, one property, and the app have different risks. First identify records linked to deposits, insurance, repairs, or disputes.

RoomLedger stores data on the device and is not a cloud archive that the provider can restore for you. Exporting is therefore a sensible step before removing anything important.

Ask three questions first

Must the record be retained under an agreement or local rule? Have you opened a working PDF and ZIP? Do the copies contain original photos, notes, signatures, and inventory? If any answer is unknown, pause and check.

Clear data carefully

Export the property by date, extract it, and open key files. If removing a duplicate photo, check linked records still point to the correct image. If deleting a completed property, put its name and date in the archive. When changing iPhone, do not remove the old app until the copy is tested on the new device. View RoomLedger.

Distinguish app deletion from every copy

Removing a property from RoomLedger does not automatically remove PDFs, images, or ZIPs in Files, Photos, email, or a computer. List export locations if your goal is complete deletion. Conversely, do not delete external copies when a retention obligation remains.

Note: Retention depends on location and circumstances. Seek professional guidance for a dispute or insurance obligation.
