RoomLedger
home inventory for insurance

Create a home inventory for insurance with RoomLedger

A home inventory lists property and supporting evidence, but it does not set a coverage limit or decide what value an insurer accepts. RoomLedger can organize items by property and room with photos, serial numbers, receipts and notes.

Record property by room

Move through each room and record item name, quantity, model, serial number, location, condition and accessories. Take a context photo and a close photo of the label. For valuable property, keep receipts, certificates or other documents requested by the insurer.

Separate purchase price from current value

A receipt shows what you paid at a point in time, not necessarily replacement value or the value accepted under a policy. Record purchase date, currency and source, and do not revalue an item from a photo alone. Ask the insurer which fields and format it needs.

Protect and update the inventory

Export PDF, CSV or ZIP, test the files and limit sharing of addresses, serials and family photos. Keep old snapshots when an item is bought, sold, repaired or moved. Record who checked each item and whether it is stored or loaned. Send only the relevant evidence when requested, and keep the original export under your privacy policy. See RoomLedger.
