What SHA-256 Means for a RoomLedger Image
SHA-256 is a fingerprint of file content. If the value matches on the same file after delivery, the checked bytes did not change. It does not prove when the photo was taken, that it shows the whole room, that it was unedited before hashing or that an insurer or court will accept it.
A renamed file may keep the same hash; compression, resizing, rotation, metadata changes or re-saving may change it. Hash the version you will actually send, record file name, time, tool and scope, and state whether you hashed the ZIP or each image. Compare the full value and keep mismatched copies as history. Note: A fingerprint is an integrity aid, not a legal conclusion.
