RoomLedger
context for tenant condition photos

What Context Makes Tenant Photos Easier to Compare?

A phone photo can capture a condition quickly, but a close-up alone may not show the room, date or when a change occurred. Context, captions and dates help landlords, tenants and repair staff read the same record. RoomLedger groups photos by property and room, while the capture method still matters.

Use two layers and four caption fields

Give each issue a wide photo for location and a close-up for detail. A caption should state room, specific location, visible observation and date. “Bathroom, below the sink, damp mark observed on …, not opened for inspection” is better than “leak.” Do not infer cause, danger or responsibility without expertise. Add a later repair photo and date rather than deleting the first image.

Create the property and room in RoomLedger, add the photo to the right group and use states such as question or reported. See RoomLedger. Check room and date in PDF and open random ZIP images. Share only the needed package and limit addresses, faces, signatures and private property.

Keep the initial image, message, repair action and completion image in a timeline. Context improves readability but does not prove liability or a deposit amount. Remove unnecessary documents or faces from external packages while keeping a secure internal source.

Note: RoomLedger organizes records; it does not replace a lease or legal advice.
